Monika Skomra is a graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She has a passion for objects crafted by human hands, embracing both their naive and imperfect forms, as well as intricate and detailed artifacts that reflect human nature. After years of exploration to find an artistic language that resonates with her values, Monika found her calling in jewelry making. While she appreciates the beauty and significance of traditional art forms like painting and sculpture, she perceives them as somewhat inaccessible. In her work, she strives to create pieces that are intimately connected to the body, meant to accompany everyday life and serve as a tangible record of memories and experiences. Monika operates her own studio in Warsaw, where she designs and crafts her unique jewelry pieces.
CARE
When using jewelry try to avoid contact with chemicals such as detergents, cosmetics, perfumes, cleaning agents. While using creams, lotions, perfumes, apply them to your skin before putting on jewelry, then wait a moment for the cosmetics to be absorbed. Remove jewelry before engaging in physical activity where jewelry could be damaged. Cleaning, working in the garden or playing sports in jewelry are associated with the risk of damaging and scratching the item. Take off your jewelry to sleep, bathe or while in a sauna. Store your jewelry in a separate from other items to avoid scratches. Use dedicated packaging or a cotton bag in which you can put your jewelry, protecting it from sunlight and dust. To remove everyday dirt and tarnish, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing too hard so as not to scratch the surface of the silver.
